January 17, 2021 - Very expressive nose on honey, cinnamon and anise star.

    Soft but present effervescence.

On the palate, the wine has a soft attack, on orange peels. Then the material settles and unrolls to go in a more spicy register but always in a sweet way on the cloves and always the underlying cinnamon. There is always tension in this wine? the balance is ensured so that each element is revealed. The palate is kaleidoscopic with changing flavors. The finish is not spectacular, I would say downy, but the wine turns more on the register of lace than power. On the other hand, the length is spectacular, still on the spices and the orange peel, we always have the feeling of having this champagne in the corner of the mouth even several hours later.

Excellent, but objectively I think its peak is over now.

June 8, 2019 - Tasted blind. Bernstein colour, candid fruit, pear, hints of orange zest, lots of yeast, fine oxidative layer, hey, some burned sugar. Fresh palate with some caramel and a finish showing a perfect level of acidity. Bubbles fading optically but still very present on the palate. Over time in the glass the oxidative character grows stronger and even later a sweet spicy layer adds to the time-complexity.

June 8, 2019 - A great example of aged Champagne. Still so much alive with bubbles, intensity and a highly complex aromatic profile. In the best moments this was a 95/96 point experience, in other moments too much too ripe (port-like) fruit showed, which I don't like. Overall, it was a great experience.

TN: Golden colour. The wine showed highly complex and developed over several hours in the glass. Quite ripe, port-like fruit on the first sniff. I'm not a particular fan of that smell. Later much broader with pear, sweet quince, baking spices, fresh brioche, caramel/burnt sugar, a layer of oxidation notes, with time apple compote and minerality. Still fresh and very lively with very fine bubbles. Great intensity, great precision and good length.

Decanting: No decanting needed but it definitely got better with time in the glass. The best moment with the full aromatic spectrum and the least amount of port notes after 2 hours in the glass.

    January 26, 2019 - Gogget i 1997.
Løs kork og null pop - kun et svakt phiish.
    Mørk i fargen.
