January 3, 2022 - Läser mina drygt två år gamla noter. Aromerna desamma, men nu är vinet i perfekt balans. Utmärkt. En helt underbar barbaresco.

November 25, 2019 - Thanksgiving week in Piemonte; 11/22/2019-11/30/2019 (Milan, Barolo, Alba, Barbaresco): Tasted at the winery. Spends 3 years in used French barriques, 1 year in the ceramic egg and 1 year in bottle. Again similar funk on the nose to the other bottles, but no reduction on this. The oak signature on this is very aggressive for me - seems to take over the whole glass. Not my thing.

November 25, 2019 - Piedmont II - better and learnings; 11/23/2019-11/29/2019 (Barolo, Alba, others): Initially this comes across as quite tannic and very intense. It needs a lot more time. Opened a bit in the glass, but always felt like it was a touch on the chewy side. Darker style. Leaves the impression of more oak. Spice cabinet. A bit more pepper. Needs time.

November 10, 2019 - Jag velar med betyget. Denna når ännu inte samma höjder som 2011, av det enkla skälet att den uppträder förvånansvärt ung forfarande. Doften är kryddig, rosig, komplex och härlig. Men tanninerna tar överhanden på ett sätt jag inte känner igen från Ca' del Baio. Redan nu en superb vinupplevelse. Men vinner den på några års lagring? Ganska säker att svaret på frågan är ett rungande ja.
