April 25, 2021 - Clear light yellow. Medium intense nose, pineapple, lilacs, poached pear and lime. Dry not too rich pineapple and pear flavours and a nice dry finish.

July 9, 2019 - 100% natural Roussanne, aged in concrete tanks on its lees. According to Texier he doesn't like to use oak with Roussanne, because it's like a sponge when it comes to wood - it just sucks all the wood flavors into itself tasting of nothing but oak. 12% alcohol.

Intense straw yellow color with a subtly green hue. Very fragrant and herbal nose with textbook aromas of Roussanne: lager-like grainy tones, peach, some red apple, a little bit of beeswax, light leesy notes, a hint of exotic spice and a touch of Play-Doh. The wine is broad, waxy and moderately full-bodied on the palate with complex flavors of pilsner-like herbal spice, some apricot, a little bit of juicy red apple, light bitter notes of stony minerality, a hint of leesy creaminess and a touch of quince. The acidity feels medium-to-moderately high. The finish is ripe, spicy and very long with flavors of herbal bitterness, stony minerality, some mealy red apples, a little bit of white pepper, light apple peel tones and a hint of apricot.

A very nice, fresh and complex Roussanne with lovely sense of focus. The wine isn't particularly crisp or refreshing, but Northern Rhône whites rarely are. However, this wine doesn't feel too oily or ponderous, yet still retains that broad, rich overall character of Roussanne. A solid, well-crafted naturalist example of this variety. Priced according to its quality at 18,50€.

March 15, 2019 - Clear light golden. Medium intense nose, melon, lime and wet stone. More tropical then floral. Delicious pear and apple flavours and a slightly rich but dry finish.

December 30, 2018 - 12 Days of Christmas - 2018; 12/21/2018-1/1/2019 (NYC, Vermont, Lake Placid): Late afternoon in the Adirondacks, a cold day, a roaring outdoor fire, great old friends, a 60th birthday celebration - a favorite wine - does life get much better than this? Beautiful memories and consistent with my prior notes. Feeling sentimental...
