Community Tasting Notes 8

February 4, 2024 - One of my unicorn, dream wines I never thought I would taste, wow, wow, wow! Truffles, smoke, herbs, dried leaves, dried flowers, cigar box, and kirsch aromatics were in your face. The wine is bright, vibrant, and almost brisk, as well as offering sweetness to its fresh, red fruits, olives herbs, and spices. Medium-bodied and focused on its vibrant core of kirsch and peppery, earthy, raspberries, this is a true wine legend in the glass. It is not a wine to hold. But it is a wine to experience! Drink from 2024-2029.

August 10, 2021 - What a wine the 69 La Mouline is with its sweet and sour red fruit nose with a seemingly endless range of blood, meat, coffee, and pepper nuances. Yet as masculine as those notes sound, this wine has arrived at such a place of maturity that it carries a certain elegance, a light touch. And the combination of those factors renders it so rare; unforgettable.

December 16, 2017 - KC. Another terrific bottle following 82. Great color with black fruited, fresh and chocolatey aromatics, the latter standing out for me more than roast meat. Still very concentrated with a liqueured palate.

May 12, 2017 - World's Greatest - Night II (Daniel): Rich cranberry and blackberry nose. Perfumed and dense but doesn't have the same expression of earth as the '76.

January 18, 2012 - In perfect condition. Darker than the 1978. An amazing wine that is still quite young and vibrant.
