May 26, 2019 - A Few Wines with BBQ (Chez Whitehead - Northbrook IL): Small glass, brief note. Mostly mature black fruit that I am certain was once powerful and enticing, but not just mature. And the heat hasn't gone anywhere.
November 16, 2017 - Medium-dark garnet, slight browning at the edge. One-dimensional, a bit tannic. Pleasant, sweet aroma but a bit old. Faded after several hours. A bit past its prime but still drinkable, but definitely for short-term drinking.

January 8, 2017 - Very fine aussie shiraz !!!! Black currant with depth and structure. Good acid backbone to make it fresh and big !!! Loevely mouthcoating. Drink
December 28, 2016 - Loved this, dark, opaque long, scented, great balance.
Absolutely memorable!
Pity it is the only one.
January 30, 2016 - Dark ruby. Expressive nose of torrefaction, sweet fruit compote, prune, very perfumed. Very sweet and full bodied palate, lacking a bit of freshness and elegance. Difficult with food.
May 5, 2015 - This bottle was much better than the last one I tasted in 2013. This was still dark and opaque. It was fully at its peak and outstanding! Very pronounced and complex shiraz aromas. On the palate, rich and very smooth, no significant tannin, very long aftertaste. This has come around beautifully and was a joy to drink over two nights. It's time to drink up, but a true pleasure in the glass. Who says Aussie wines don't age well?

December 24, 2014 - Decanted, and drank over 3 hours and it just kept getting better.
October 26, 2013 - Took to "scary wine" night. Was definitely not the scariest wine there. But past the peak.
October 11, 2013 - Nice, pretty wine, but one-dimensional. Some complex aromas at first, which faded. Chocolate components. Very pleasant but not memorable. Time to drink up.

April 10, 2013 - Absolutely beautiful, great fruit, spices, length, superb drinking. I made notes at the time which I've lost, unfortunately.
