March 21, 2007 - FamilyWinemakers of California; 3/20/2007-3/21/2007 (Pasadena, CA): Pronounced aromas of pineapples and tropical fruit give way to similar flavors, with notes of apple and herbs. Long finish. Nice balance.

December 26, 2006 - Our first bottle of serious CA chardonnay. Barrel fermented, wild yeast, malolactic, oak aged, unfined and unfiltered. Strong gold colour. Honeycomb nose. Palate is rich and complex, obviously but not overly oaked. Honey on buttered toast, mellow apple, pear, pineapple, hints of hazelnut. Long finish. A welcome backbone of acidity suggests useful longevity. Interesting, worthwhile and a bit of a festive treat really, though too rich and boozy (14.6%) for my OH to manage more than a glass. Be happy to have some more in the cellar.
