April 9, 2024 - Giovanni Canonica tasting at HAN. Aired few hours in bottle already. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Long legs.
Nose pronounced intensity, with aromas of sweet nail polish VA, red rose flowers, red cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, lovely high acidity, high alcohol (15.5%), integrated high tannins, just about full body. Mdium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red cherries, sweet ripe strawberries, bit of cherry cola, red licorice. Long finish.
Very good quality. Lovely drinking already actually. Strangely, this seemed to become flatter/shut down and less exuberant as it got more air over the course of the night. May not be as long lived as 2019.

July 3, 2023 - Raspberry, candied violet, plum, tobacco, orange, crushed flowers, some menthol, perfume - a lot going on in the nose. Very ripe on the palate and the alcohol is of course very high but well balanced with medium+ acid. On the palate, some savory elements come through mixing with the crushed ripe berries. Velvety tannin structure. I’m able to pick these up cheaply for under SGD$100 and at that price they are very interesting wines to try. However, at the more usual retail price (driven by scarcity) I would not be a buyer.

January 26, 2023 - This is really good! It’s so elegant and pretty, medium light red and highly translucent, I was shocked when I saw 15.5% alcohol on the label… you’d never know it. Exceptional balance with ultra fine tannins and bright acidity.

July 24, 2022 - Remarkably balanced and focused--a real accomplishment of a wine. Vibrant acidity, sweetness of cherry mixed with a touch balsamic, tannins are firm but not overpowering.

March 16, 2022 - This is very special: super promising even by the standards of the vintage.
