Community Tasting Notes 4

October 15, 2022 - Decanted and drank over 90 minutes: way too early. Not going to touch my next bottle for another 6-8 years.

November 4, 2020 - Gorgeous, consistent with my previous note. My last bottle. 92/93

May 24, 2020 - This has been sitting in my cellar for 2y, after a favorable initial review; so it was with some anticipation that I picked this for dinner tonight. Decanted for 1-2h, it was great out of the gate (more tannins at first), but really came together after 2h in the decanter. Translucent ruby in the glass. Huge nose of violets, roses, baking spices. On the palate a great blend of restrained and classy red cherries and berries; minerals, spices, and tannins with a long finish. Lovely, easy to drink, strongly evocative of the Langhe, and great QPR to boot! Delicious tonight with grilled salmon. You could easily (well, maybe not easily) wait another 3-5 years for this wine to improve in the cellar, but why wait, it is excellent now.

July 24, 2018 - Opened to breathe for 2h. Hot berries and cinnamon on the nose. Tastes like a classy feminine nebbiolo - intense berries, mineral, hints of pepper, acid, and smooth tannins - like a caress, velvet integration. No sharp edges anywhere, even in its youth. Paired extremely well with juicy paella tonight. I definitely would order more of this to hold for a few years, although it is very approachable right now.
