March 16, 2023 - This 45 old vine wine with 92% Grenache and 8% Mourvèdre is in a great spot right now. Should continue to drink well for a few more years

January 9, 2023 - Delicious wine, ready to drink, but will last for 4-5 years. But, why wait? Well integrated, with nothing out of balance. Good fruit, high alcohol but not noticeable.

September 16, 2022 - Great price performer, ready to enjoy now. OK to PnP but does improve with some air. Tannins have rounded and acids are still there so this has some time ahead of it, but full-on alcohol and developed body/palate suggests near-term peak before elements fall out of balance.

September 7, 2022 - Much more lofty profile than a typical CdR. D caught an inkling of "ink" taste that she didn't like. The wine emerged in the glass. Drink over the next few years.

August 22, 2021 - I recall purchasing these bottles because it was simply the most elegant CDR wine I’d had the opportunity to taste. Not the usual descriptor for CdR and all things being relative, it still stands.
Revisiting my last bottle of the wine over 3 days, it remains a nice dark complected wine with plenty of herbal character, fair acid and medium grained tannins and moderate depth of flavor.
Aromatically the herbal notes are dominant, yet on the palate the herbs take a back seat to the fruit and spice.
The finish is moderately long as it quickly segues from the fruit to drying tannins and herbal notes.

The wine certainly belies its 15% abv. I actually had to double take as it doesn’t come across as that large at all.
This wine has certainly opened and gained some flesh since release, yet still one of only a few CdR I think I’d drink.
