Community Tasting Notes 5

October 1, 2022 - This drank very nicely. From magnum, 30 min decant.

Rich and fleshy fruit, good concentration and some nice secondary notes of spice and cigar leaf.

    Drink or hold, no rush

October 15, 2020 - Appearance: Straddles the line between ruby and garnet. Pale rim, intense core. Some sediment.

Nose: Cranberry and blackberry. Cured meats. Anise. Maybe some warming spices.

Palate: MAJOR acid. Medium tannins. Fruit notes carry forward as does anise. Medium body. Could use a couple years in the cellar but nice with high fat foods (parmesan cheese).

March 20, 2019 - Medium. Decent value. On the bright side. Pepper dominant and tight on day one. Day 2, not much improvement, day 3 was a charm exposing bing cherry with leather undertones.

December 23, 2018 - Ruby in color. Hints of dark cherry on the nose. Cherry and a hint of raspberry, tobacco and pepper palate. Sturdy pleasant tannins. Medium body, Medium finish. Very, very nice. Both the nose and palate were closed but both opened very nicely over several hours and the next day. Better on day 2.

August 19, 2018 - Bright berry flavors; classic but somewhat smoother than the average Barbera.
