Pronounced taste of caramel, coffee, coffee beans, toffee, fig, prune, vanilla, roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate, orange and caramelized orange peel. Long and sweet finish. High acidity. Light tannins. Full body. A very good and well balanced Colheita. Drink now or over the next ten years. Goes well with cheeses, chocolate or caramel desserts.

December 23, 2018 - Tonight I finally opened my bottle. I'll post here then cross post to it's own TN. Bottled in 2017. Bought at Frankfurt airport in October 2018 for, IIRC, 35 Euros. The color is a medium/light ruby-tea color. A bit of a waxy and baked plum nose. The palate started out somewhat thick and lacking in acidity with a dominate flavor of baked plums. There's little complexity to this and the lack of acidity that continues throughout makes this very sweet and cloying. The finish is clipped and lacks any complexity to speak of. I have generally enjoyed the previous Graham's SHT's they've released. This one however, falls well short of the others. It is constant with other 2003 tawny's I've tried, with one notable exception being the Quinta do Noval, in that this very ripe vintage has made very good VP's but, at least at this young stage, not so good tawny's.
