November 8, 2022 - Wow! This is liquid toffee with toasted almonds in a caramel wrap. Long, vibrant, cedar tinged finish that goes on forever. I don't uderstand the lack of love for this. I love these old Colheitas with Krohn nuttiness. Drink!

January 26, 2022 - Tasted a 2006 bottling. A strong and complex aroma of dried fruit, walnut, and baked goods. Perhaps a bit sharp (alcoholic?) on the nose at first - needed more than 30 mins of air. Dull amber color, a bit murky. Notes of caramel, burnt sugar, spices. Long and slightly bitter finish adds a nice touch. Sugar level is a bit too high for me here, and it doesn't seem to be balanced with enough fruit or acidity. Nevertheless, feels very pleasant in the mouth.

July 21, 2017 - FTLOP 12th Anniversary; 7/21/2017-7/23/2017 (Seattle, Washington): Cola on the nose. Eucalyptus note on the palette and some cocoa powder on the finish.

September 26, 2013 - Nice, but very sweet. A bit like a PX sherry, but not as syrupy. The nose is somewhat subdued, with some nut, raisin, fig notes.

December 2, 2012 - Baked red fruit nose with red apples and cranberries. Liquorice, medicinal notes, wood and caramel.
Very sweet on the attack with full and fuity palate - not that complex. Hazelnuts, lifting herbs, orange peel and some heat in the finish.
Considering the price this just doesn't deliver. Simple sweet stuff. Nose a bit better though.
