March 21, 2024 - Recent auction buy. Wanted to revisit this vintage after drinking so much of it from '18-'22.

Pnp'd into a decanter later in the evening. It was gone over about 3 hours. Very dark and brooding. Not at all like how it was early in its life. This is remarkably similar to how I saw the '13 evolve over time. Still retains some acidic backbone but not the classic BCellars electricity/energy feel from its early years. Some oak is still there but it's integrating and the fruit is evolving into this darker toned down almost sullen nature. I have one left and I think I'll let it sit a few more years just to see how it moves along its path......

November 23, 2023 - Pnp late this evening as our last bottle all because Agelvis egged me on for another '16! I guess I succumbed to peer pressure? Dark purple in the glass....pretty typical Ehrlich nose of dark, juicy fruit, cassis, a touch of iron pan and chocolate. This one really needed an hour or two to shine. We enjoyed the bottle over 3 hours and the last glasses were the best. Hated to see it go, but as I noted to Agelvis, it always seems like if you let these Ehrlich go too long they turn quite black fruited with more iron pan notes. This reminds me that I need to drink this one in its first 5-6 years of life. I love these B Cellars for what they are: lively acidity/energy and smooth quality fruit with balanced tannins and so smooth! 91-92 at the pnp, 94 at the end.

November 23, 2023 - PNP. Deep dark intense ruby color. Blueberry, burnt French toast, wild strawberry, graphite, and cocoa. Dry palate, with sandy acidity. Lower intensity tannins on the medium long finish.

This really needs a two hour decant. The aeration will lead to a higher score. Even so, this was a nice ending to a terrific Thanksgiving. Nice late pull by Mark1NPT.

July 4, 2023 - Drank very well and the finish was amazing. Tannins have softened quite a bit, but the fruit was a combo of bright and dark.
