    November 16, 2019 - Sat, 11/16/19, $2 Tasting: Typically Grenache 50%, Cinsault 20%, Tibouren 20%, & Syrah 10%

N: CLOSED; Earth/minerals with grapes, poss flowers, underneath?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt counterbalanced by an acidity as it evolves into a LONG, balanced finish with a BIT of richness, a very, VERY slight bitter/swtness, & the BAREST *hint* of an OCCASIONAL very, VERY slight bitterness. Primarily a food style for now & through '20, poss EARLY '21. My VG+/EXC-, arguably the higher for QPR for such a style from this AOC. [I saw no other source with which to compare this vendor's $13.95.]

    July 20, 2019 - Sat, 07/20/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Typically Grenache 50%, Cinsault 20%, Tibouren 20%, & Syrah 10%

N: Minerals, earth, almost with a touch of smoke, & POSS undertones of raisins?

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) beautifully counterbalanced by an acidity which deftly controls the action into & through the LONG, tangy/swt finish with the BAREST *hint* of a very, VERY slight bitterness which I'd expect to be a + (at least @ this juncture). Primarily quaff/for lighter fare. For now & through '20. My VG+; [I saw no other source with which to compare this vendor's $13.95.]

    June 8, 2019 - Sat, 06/08/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Typically Grenache 50%, Cinsault 20%, Tibouren 20%, & Syrah 10%

N: Grapiness sligtly atop flowers with notes of minerals?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt (threshold R.S.?) nicely off-set by an acidity which defines the wine into & through the LONG, VERY slightly bitterish, tangy/swt finish. For now & into EARLY '20? My VG/VG+; [Tasted @ $13.95, which I was unable to compare.]

  • srh Likes this wine:

    November 24, 2018 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 3 *shared* bottles] from 11/23/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Typically Grenache 50%, Cinsault 20%, Tibouren 20%, & Syrah 10%

N: Fairly fragrant inerals, flowers, with grapes underneath?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtih frt counterbalanced by a tangy acidity which dominates the flavors into & through the LONG, somewhat tangy/swt finish with a VERY slight bitterness that's PROBABLY a +. My VG+/EXC-. [Tasted @ $13.95, which I was unable to compare.]

Note: Also tasted on 7/21 & 10/6/2018 when, unlike today, I found the bitterness to be disqualifying.

    October 6, 2018 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 6 *shared* bottles] from 10/05/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Typically Grenache 50%, Cinsault 20%, Tibouren 20%, & Syrah 10%

N: Closed; A melding of flowers & minerals

P: MF, poss Med, body; RNDISH entry with nice, almost swtish frt balanced by an acidity which caries into a LONG, very, VERY slightly tangy finish with more of a bitterness than a swtness, & POSS a burgeoning quasi-bitter flatness. MIGHT be better with food? At any rate, NOT a Rosé *I'd* buy, though it will likely hold into early '20. My VG, which may very well be an OVERrate. :( [Tasted @ $13.95, which I was unable to compare.]
