Community Tasting Notes 6

August 29, 2023 - Bright red crunchy cherry fruit. This is light on its feet and absolutely delicuous. The last vintage I had of this was 2008 which, per my 2013 note, was similarly good. I opened it forgetting what I had paid. The record shows $40. Great value!!

April 23, 2022 - Popped and took first taste. Tasting performed after a couple of hours. Earlier we had opened a wine we didn’t like (too woody) so this was the do-over.

Wine is a light carnelian, not that concentrated, bright. Can see things all the way through it.

On nose, a little funkiness which is charming not annoying. And it’s not reduction because this has been open for a while and it still has it. Cherries, blackberries, a little spice. Really nice!

On palate, wine is sound. A touch of pepper comes across along with the aforementioned fruit. Okay acid but doesn’t feel like it’s built to last. Nice balance and structure. This is going to be great to drink over the next few years. I like it a lot and I’ll have the next bottle next year.

May 7, 2021 - Delicious, floral nose, spices. On red cherry fruit notes and spices on the palate, more depth and material here compared to the 2013 and 2014 which I have enjoyed recently. More volume and weight, but still elegant, pure and a joy to drink.
