July 4, 2022 - Mineral forward, but with Red fruit and refreshing acidity. Occasional notes of hot peppers or smoked paprika.

August 11, 2021 - Solid basic Chinon, reasonably ripe red berry fruit but still the lean (M) body and M+ acid of the cooler climate. There’s spicy black pepper and a bit of evergreen woodsiness but nothing overtly funky, more fruit forward. Drinking well now and I wouldn’t fear any decline for a good 4-5 years more.

Very good with burgers topped with a bloomy rind ashed sheep’s cheese and roasted peppers. Not one you’ll remember long but food friendly and a solid value at $20. This would be a good introduction to Chinon for someone not experienced with cool climate reds. ~6/10

May 13, 2020 - A highly enjoyable example of Chinon. It showcases a nice mix of tart fruit and savory green notes. I noted red currant, cherry skin, plum skin with some pine tar, and clove tobacco. The acidity is bright and refreshing and alcohol is low. While not overly complex, I found it had enough interesting qualities to keep me engaged and figure it will only get better with a couple more years.

April 10, 2020 - Very dark ruby in the glass. The nose is musty, with particular notes of fresh vegetation and faint dark fruits. The vegetal theme carries into the palate, where a pleasant balance of sweetness and more dark fruit supports the dominant herbal flavor. Medium minus acidity, medium plus tannins. This is a good deal around $20.

November 4, 2019 - Complex and interesting. Juniper on the nose and cedar on the palate.
