Community Tasting Notes 3

September 18, 2021 - Darkest red, almost black, blue shimmer, showing maturity --- Nose fresh, elegant wood notes, tobacco leaf, green aspects, some bark, red fruits, some glue --- Palate fresh, salty, herbal, dark fruit, elegant wood notes, cigar box, very nice acidity, nice fruitiness, dark fruit, some plum --- Finishes rather long on its nice acidity, saltiness and dark fruit. Like it a lot. The herbal wood notes are very nice, modern while classy.

December 8, 2019 - Another wine born from Aalto. This is the project of Javier Zaccagnini, the former partner of Mariano García.
Is this more elegant than the average Ribera del Duero wine? (this is what Zaccagnini aims for). Only time will tell. More elegant than Aalto? I doubt it but I am eager to be surprised. The wine itself is very young but already more approachable then Aalto in this stage, so that is one point in favor of it, right now. There is, as to be expected from a hot dry year like 2015, a lot of ripe but not overripe fruit. The elevage is well judged even so they are using more new barrels then they want. It is already nicely woven into the wine but also very good recognizable. There is body beyond medium but this is Ribera-del-Duero, so don't come running to me... I enjoyed it and looking forward to try my other bottles, to see the evolution. Well done.

December 26, 2018 - Never heard of this wine before, a recommendation from a spanish retail shop, little worried about the high ABV (15%), but starting with a tangy savoury berry smell, some earthy and tobacco tones, good texture, very dense but elegant, not that overripe fruit monster you often find in a RdD bottle, refined finish, young, will improve by cellaring, *(**-?), around 88- 89+ potential
TWo days later the rest of this open bottle still is lively with good grip and no tertiary aromas, really delicious black fruit, ending mineralic elegant, upside potential bottle, **(*+), 90+?
