October 3, 2022 - Ruby red color slight rust in rim and clear. Nose was initially very tight but after an hour of decanting showed red current and raspberries with a truffle an floral almost rose like overtones. Acidity was still pretty high given it’s age and it retained throughout experience. Palate of sweet red fruit almost a stewed sweetness followed by rich mushroom and lavender/rose petal flavors. The finish was silky almost like melting milk chocolate on the tongue. Excellent expression of a well aged GC.

May 2, 2022 - Consistent notes; 88-89 points. This remains a bit rigid with an almost entirely secondary profile of cabinet spice box, anise with smoky root vegetable impressions with bits of leather on top of tart (borderline racy) acidity to the licorice-infused red cherry fruits. A bit dusty and drying today with more emphasis on acidity than tannins (Thank God). Refreshing, elegant, classic and long and becomes true Gevrey with an hour plus in the decanter. No rush on this! Wait for a bit more mid-palate pliancy and development. 89(ish)

October 31, 2020 - Showing some development but holds onto more primary fruit than one would imagine. Graphite, sandalwood, cabinet spices and dark cherry that seem to be lifted by the buoyant tannins of the vintage that make this so attractive even now. The tannins are dry but lifted and provide good refreshment as a drink now. Shows some of the leather and soy type flavors with air time. Wait a bit before I taste the next bottle. 89+

April 17, 2020 - Ruby colored with slight rust on rim. The bouquet was very pretty with flowers and forest scents forward of the fruit. Cassis was prominent fruit. Body was medium and good acidity with soft tannins. Palate was floral with rose petals and red currants and raspberries. There was a bit of wild mushroom underneath and on the finish. Very nice wine.

October 27, 2018 - An extremely pleasant experience. Some black cherry on the nose, similar to taste. Plus dark forest fruit and a lovely tang. Concentrated long finish. Still drinking very nicely. Impressed village wine can last this long.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin) Bright medium cherry-red. The nose is high-toned with a few earthy notes buttressing the red fruits. The palate is lithe and linear with very good acidity. Shape-wise, this is fit rather than fat with modest tannins and a medium finish. Quite acceptable, but some-way behind the Rousseau version in 2001.
