November 27, 2022 - Aromas of fresh light berries. Light bodied and transparent style.

February 19, 2021 - Aged for 12-24 months in stainless steel, depending on the vintage. 12% alcohol. Total production 3,800 bottles.

Luminous, fully translucent and relatively light pomegranate color. Very Nebbiolo nose - I mean to the "I Can't Believe It's Not Nebbiolo!" extent - with vibrant aromas of ripe sour cherries, some floral notes of roses, light sweet notes or raspberry marmalade, a little bit of earth, a hint of old leather and a touch of pipe tobacco. The wine is bone-dry, lean and crunchy on the palate with a light-to-medium body and precise, sappy flavors of tart lingonberries and sour cherry bitterness, some floral notes of dried flowers, a little bit of tobacco, light gravelly mineral tones, a hint of crunchy crowberries and a lifted touch of violets. Wonderfully fresh and sinewy overall feel, thanks to the very high acidity and moderately grippy medium-plus tannins. The finish is long, dry and rather grippy with rather pronounced sour cherry bitterness and fresh flavors of tart lingonberries, some sappy red fruits, a little bit of gravelly minerality, light savory notes of leather and a hint of tobacco.

A wonderfully fresh, structured and poised red wine that feels remarkably similar to a Nebbiolo. The only thing that makes this stand apart from a Nebbiolo is that this wine feels less ripe and substantial than a Nebbiolo, coming across as lighter and more fresh, whereas a Nebbiolo would show more weight and fruit. However, aromatically this is strikingly similar and I'd be pushed not to guess "Nebbiolo" if somebody made me taste this wine blind. The wine shows the vibrant fruit flavors of the relatively warm 2013 vintage, but it doesn't translate to ripe, sweet-toned fruit flavors or high alcohol in any way, making the wine drink more like a cooler-climate Nebbiolo - think of Carema or Chiavennasca from Valtellina. A superb, very gastronomic food wine. Will probably not just keep but evolve for years more. Wonderful value at 15€.

September 1, 2020 - Upon opening - lifted aromas of tar, graphite, leather and balsamic. Starting to show some old world charm and a forward aspect. Structure on the palate was lithe and taught, think 8 year old barbaresco. However this shutdown hard after about 2 hours of slow ox and never really recovered. Tannins almost disappeared. I do wonder if this is a sign that it’s slowing down or has peaked. Left for a day and hasn’t come back to life. Drink now

May 31, 2020 - In good shape, but I see no reason to wait. Medium-bodied at most, high acids. Some bitterness in the background. Just 12,0% recommended
