  Nothing near mature, obviously, but drinking very well anyway. In mouth mocha, bitter choc, dark plum, blackberry, bit of tar, gentle tannins, some heat from the alc, some leather/cedar/touch of vanilla. Big, round and soft. Would have marked higher if the acid balance was higher to cope with all that ripe fruit. Not especially dry.
  
  N....some espresso, saddle leather, not intense.
  
  VFM?......bargain, will buy the 2013 again.

  Some bricking at the edge
  Nose is all tobacco, so aromatic, there’s a slight menthol edge to it. Then some dusty spices, cardamom, and dark cherry.
  Mature on the palate, soft tannins, sweet stewed fruit,
  Cinnamon, and tobacco in the finish.
  Perhaps lacking a little oomph but for £14 it’s hard to argue with this. Lots of mature Rioja class for not much money.

  December 10, 2018 - Quite closed after opening, I had a glass and left it overnight so my impressions are mainly from day 2. Still close and taut though, good acidity but lacks somehow charm or fruit to meet it. Slightly disjointed, I'm thinking it needs more time to come better together, at present not bad with stew but not great either.
  After I liked the very good 2010, this one came as a disappointment. So I would rather stay away from opening my other bottle for at least a couple of years.
