July 29, 2023 - Not as good as some reviews might suggest. Paired with a dry aged bone in NY strip. Nothing bad really but for the price I thought there should be a wow factor.

December 9, 2022 - But prunny and not as interesting as I was hoping.

October 30, 2022 - Pop and pour and followed for several hours. This bottle was a bit shy on the nose, but a little time and some coaxing brought out delicious aromas of sweet red cherry and strawberry, blackberries, plum jam, herbs, earth, and some new leather. Blackberries, plums, earth, red cherry, cassis, and herbs on the palate. Good acidity, chewy, mouthcoating tannins, med-long finish. Full bodied. 15%. Pair with the biggest steak you can find. Overall, I really enjoyed this wine. I just wish the nose was a little more outgoing.

December 4, 2021 - Shimmering, like a giant backlit black plum. Quite a Pavie like fantasy trip. Viscous and super concentrated, a case of mint oreo cookies crushed between wet mossy rocks. After an hour in the glass, book leather shows up too, and I was twice as interested in smelling the hedonist’s bouquet, than I was sipping this still primary, syrupy elixir. Integrated tannins. 60% chance that it doesn’t develop additional palate complexity, but I certainly understand why others will score this higher now. I still appreciate molten chocolate lava cake, although I don’t ever order it. Worked well w pecan shell bbq’d blackened tomohawk steak, and even better as “dessert”. I think it drinks just like this for 15 years.

October 25, 2021 - Very tasty, even just popped and poured. But really opened up after about 30 minutes in the glass. Ripe, crunchy, plummy fruit. Sweet, but well balanced by tannins and acidity. Really close to peak, but I'm thinking maybe another 2 to 3 years to shed the baby fat and get more complexity. Still, gorgeous wine with a couple of steaks tonight.
