March 31, 2023 - Liquid Black Forest gateau in a glass. Mercifully fully dry, it’s fun and frothy but just a glass or two is enough. A lovely “greeting wine” but I would need something more serious for the main course. CHP 87pts

August 20, 2022 - Pure unadulterated sparkling fruit juice. A summer fruit pudding that fizzes. Delightfully easy to drink, but only so much. 87 pts

October 16, 2021 - Tasting Training for WSET Level 4, Units D4 + D5 - Session 8: Wine 6: The wine has a deep purple colour. The nose has medium(+) intensity and shows primary characteristics of strawberry, cherry and plum.

On the palate the wine is off-dry, with high acidity, medium(+) tannin, medium alcohol and medium body. The tannin is medium-fine and perceived as a little coarse and dry, the finish has medium(+) length. The flavour intensity is medium(+), flavours are primary and again include strawberry, cherry and red plum.

This is a good quality wine since it has good intensity, good balance of fruit and acidity, and good length. To be considered being of outstanding quality the wine would need greater complexity and even greater length.

The wine is defined by its fresh fruit flavours and does not have the structure to improve with further time in bottle. It is hence not suitable for further ageing in bottle.

April 17, 2021 - Intense inky black/violet, with earthy aromas. Sparkling texture contrasts with firm tannins and blackberry/grape flavors. A bit of bitter note on the finish. Even though it is a sparkling wine, DO NOT drink this chilled or you will hate it (we did). Once at room temperature its character really shines and it is excellent example of a Lambrusco.
