October 15, 2022 - A reductive nose, but with time, a beautifully mature nose comes around. Undergrowth, red fruits, black tea, and some spice. Midweighted, sappy and expansive on the palate without being heavy. Mature, with lovely undergrowth on the back end. A savory than fruit driven wine. Fully mature. Very long. Outstanding and then some.

August 29, 2021 - Old and funky, past it’s prime but still fun.

October 3, 2016 - Nose: black and blue fruit, black pepper, mushrooms and funky soil. Palate: full and juicy with smoked meat and olive tapenade. Buttered toast. Tannins and the alcohol are both robust but well integrated, this wine has a beautiful profile and many years ahead of it.

October 2, 2016 - Magnum Fest (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Refined aromatics of cherries and strawberries along with earth and olives. So pure and vibrant on the palate but the tannins still show a lot of grip, and the structure shows further ageing potential. Juicy black cherries with some strawberries mix with rose hips, olives, black tea. Still going strong with life ahead.

August 10, 2016 - Bright with sneaky power, delicate texture and a subtle minerality. Deep flavors of black cherry, pomegranate, earth, tobacco, light spice and just a touch of funk. Soft tannins and a long, long finish. No sediment. Slightly thin in the mid-palate at first, but filled out after a few hours.
