May 2, 2023 - Big and bold Rioja. Aromas of black cherry, root beer, black olives and tobacco. Palate is lush with cherry cola flavors, cassis, black licorice, and baking spices. Finish is loaded with intensified oaky tobacco, spice and dried cherry flavors. Lots of acidity. More New World in style but still quite good.

Next day the balsamic goes away. I'll be cellaring this for a few years to see how it progresses. There might be some upside.

September 23, 2022 - Blue- and blackberry on the quite mineral nose. Also notes of leather and tobacco.
Good balance on the palate. Sweetness but also dusty tannins.
