January 20, 2024 - This is cabernet the way I like it. Plum, creme de cassis, blackberry, black olive, iron, and licorice root, held together with fine grained tannins. Tasting herbs on the finish. Layered, complex, well integrated. Beautiful.

October 23, 2023 - Underrated wine, especially if you appreciate the Martini winemaking style. Great texture amplifies a blue fruit profile. I would put it in the class with Kamen Cab most vintages. Very good for a ~$110 price point.

September 16, 2022 - Bottle 2 of 7. Still big and fruity. Lots of stuffing that needs more time to resolve and mature. After first glass, decanted for about 4 hours and still found this pretty bold. Maybe decant 6-8+ hours and serve with a meaty dish, or wait a few more years.

July 10, 2022 - Give this time to open up. Classic, dry old-school Cabernet.

January 2, 2022 - Holidays 2021; 11/30/2021-1/2/2022 (Dogwood Grove, Arlington, VA): Sophisticated and complex wine that showed a lot of earthy notes of underbrush, tobacco leaf and forest, but these flavors were accented by fruit notes of plum and currant, making the overall package quite attractive. Dense and concentrated but pleasant and easy to sip. Celebrating college application season!
