    August 8, 2023 - Underwhelming...

Drunk over two nights, it tasted like an old wine which had dried out. Unless it's in a 'dormant' phase and some fruit magically reappears in time, I really can't see it improving with age.

February 18, 2022 - {screwcap, 13.5%} Still youthful dark crimson. Some vanilla/glue aromas that I associate with modern mount pleasant wines, I must say. Some initial reductiveness blew off quickly; it’s still vanilla, with any Pinot characters seeming to fade under the white pepper Shiraz. Palate is dry and a bit dusty, with medium powdery tannins, faint red fruit, a generally astringent mien, and a lean yet not unripe presence. Still, never quite fells like it’s ever going to win your heart. Light/medium weight, medium/high acidity, just seems a bit mean for outright flavour. Might get better with age, I think.

January 17, 2021 - This to me is an unusual blend.

Floral nose with red fruits as you would expect. Spices, aniseed, licorice, white pepper. Medium body, length and medium fine tannins.

Don’t know how this will age but next bottle in 1-2 years.

Improves with a little time in the glass. I agree not for everyone but I like it. I would guess that only Hunter Shiraz or other area with lighter style would work with Pinot noir but I could be wrong.

    Medium bodied, only just.

Red fruits, iron, pepper and dark spice with an earthen edge- it’s almost beetroot- on the nose.

Lean but long finish leaves iron, earth, and herbal mix.

Intense red current and red cherry skins here, the intensity and length of flavour for a light to medium bodied wine is very impressive. As is the slightly sappy mouthfeel that gives the wine a fantastic slippery texture- this must be courtesy of the Pinot noir.

The savoury and earthy flavours here I can see matching very well with Japanese food. Fatty tuna belly with wasabi and soy I’m craving.

I like this a lot, but it’s one of those styles that people will love or hate.

Very high quality here, pulsating acidity and tannins will see it live long if you want to coax more of the savoury and earthen and undergrowth character out.

Will give remaining bottle at least two more years for the acidity to bed down, then drink over the coming 10 years. I can see this becoming very interesting with age, this has upside.

August 9, 2020 - Cherry, jubey raspberry, ash, rose, black tea, waft of Easter egg chocolate which may be cheap but makes you smile and gorge. Grainy tannin, spine of acidity keeps it true. Ample length.
