February 5, 2023 - Loads of leather, evolved animal, meat juice, cèpes de Bordeaux... Sucre brun, fraises écrasées, soy sauce, sandalwood, fabulous mature Pegau. BRAVO

May 8, 2021 - I was very concerned upon opening as the cork disintegrated and I got a big whiff of VO on the nose. 2 hours in the decanter later (with consistent concerned check-in sips) and the opulence at its birth re-constituted. The nose is an aged scorched earth mixed with forest floor. Once you sip, the flavors explode in the palate revealing a surprisingly youthful fruit and flower character at 32 years old. This was like smelling old books in a library - nostalgia, longing and ultimately, acceptance and reconciliation.

March 9, 2019 - Great color and nose, stable flavors and long finish on of the ines of the afternoon.

January 9, 2016 - In the mature bouquet garrigue, earth and autumn impressions. On the palate silky soft with beautiful herbs and spices, a pleasant touch of sweetness, vanilla, toast and coffee. Beautiful acidity and soft tannin. A little more concentrated than the Cuvée Reservée. A great pleasure, fully mature and not tired yet. Will still drink lovely over the next 2 – 3 years.

November 21, 2011 - Outstanding CNdP which is tannic and juicy and aging very well. It came across as slightly monolithic - especially next to the Beaucastel 86. It has wonderful fruit and balance and plenty of interest but one does not get the sense of transparency that is a bonus with older wines. It has a rich and think texture which is representative of the appellation. This will continue to age and most likely develop in a positive manner.
