July 15, 2022 - A fantastic wine that needs time to reveal itself but what a grunter of a wine.

Upon opening, it was obvious that it was a McLaren Vale shiraz, no thinking required. But give it time, its mysteries and soul reveal themselves and a what complex soul it has. Plum, licorice, prune (but never raisins), fine tannin and layers of complexity (coffee, mocha, herbs) opened themselves to be explored. Certainly it now has leathery characteristics and cedar notes are beginning to emerge. But all of this was wrapped in Egyptian cotton wool acid making it so sensual and desirable!

Drink now or 4+ years but no more.
