January 9, 2024 - I’m with the sour and bitter guys here. This wine likely needs another year or two to peak but that’ll be short lived so hold for max 6 years. A good long decant is in order for it to get over its initial charm which is the sour and bitter part. It’s a great food wine btw. A certain greenness may be down to the Cabernets in the blend but overall it’s a nice mix of red currants, tart cherries, herbs, mint and tobacco. QPR is a little whack but that’s likely due to its scarcity and unusual history.

February 4, 2023 - Upon opening, significant nose of clove and nothing else. After an hour of air, wine retracted and became a bit backwards, almost vegetal on the finish.

Wine did improve over the evening however, nothing great came out of this bottle.

    Day two saw no improvement.

October 13, 2021 - Cassis, cherry, tobacco, cedar and fennel. This has improved since my last bottle 18 months ago and I think it could improve another point in a few more years. Sour and bitter out of the bottle but in the best possible way. Sour like a fresh raspberry, bitter like endive. Not the deepest fruit but plenty going on and good balance of elements.
