September 14, 2019 - Sat, 09/14/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 100% Chard "from our estate grown River Junction vineyard located at the confluence of the San Joaquin & Stanislaus Rivers. Cold fermented in s/s & filtered prior to aging in new & used FR & AM oak; ≈ 2/3 of the wine was allowed to go through Malolactic Fermentation." 13.5% ABV, 5.9 g/L T.A., & 3.56 pH.

N: PINEAPPLE atop butter, lemons underneath?

P: MF body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish OAK/frt (threshold R.S.?) offset by a balancing acidity which fairly seamlessly transitions into a LONG, balanced finish with a very, VERY slight tanginess & a noticeable swtness. Nicely done in a flirting with R.S. style for now & through '20. My VG+/EXC-, the higher credibly for QPR. 85 pts winealign.com ; '19 Contest Results: Silvers @ Sunset Int'l, Rodeo Uncorked!, & TEXSOM Int'l, and Bronze @ S.F. Chronicle. [Check with this vendor if interested in their competitive pricing.]

Note: Also tasted on 9/8/18 & 1/26/19, the now 3x varying > I might have imagined.

January 26, 2019 - Sat, 01/26/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 100% Chard "from our estate grown River Junction vineyard located at the confluence of the San Joaquin & Stanislaus Rivers. Cold fermented in s/s & filtered prior to aging in new & used FR & AM oak; ≈ 2/3 of the wine was allowed to go through Malolactic Fermentation." 13.5% ABV, 5.9 g/L T.A., & 3.56 pH.

N: More vanilla than (fairly subtle) butter with DISTINCT notes of spice; Fairly fragrant

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish (approaching threshold R.S.) oak/frt counterbalanced by an acidity which evolves into a LONG, bitter/swt with the ULT sensation being the bitterness, which troubles me. My G+/VG-, & drink N-O-W *if*, as I suspect, the bitterness is on an unexpectedly early upswing. [This vendor's $7.95 is as good as any on wine-searcher.]

Note: Also tasted (more positively) on 9/8/2018.

September 8, 2018 - Sat, 09/08/18, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 100% Chard "from our estate grown River Junction vineyard located at the confluence of the San Joaquin & Stanislaus Rivers. Cold fermented in s/s & filtered prior to aging in new & used FR & AM oak; ≈ 2/3 of the wine was allowed to go through Malolactic Fermentation." 13.5% ABV, 5.9 g/L T.A., & 3.56 pH.

N: Slightly closed; Butter with poss notes of asparagus, spice, & vanilla

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish OAK/frt balanced by an acidity which transitions into a LONG, pleasant finish with notes of bitter/swtness (40:60). Might work with lighter fare now & SAFELY through '19. (I'm concerned re the poss of oaky harshness down the line.) My VG+, though I'd "get" awarding it more based upon the QPR of this vendor's $7.95, which is $2 < the next lowest of wine-searcher's burgeoning listings.

Addendum: On 01/26/2019 I was MUCH *less* impressed. :(
