Community Tasting Notes 7

October 21, 2023 - 40th anniversary tasting (L'Esprit du Vin - Axelborg): My notes from this fantastic gigantic tasting are in general extremely short (because of the many wines) but with ratings. We spent a whole day tasting and tasting quality wines.

    This wine: Fantastic nose.

April 22, 2023 - Expressive stone fruit smell, peach or nectarine. The most fruit forward of PJ Kühn’s wines I remember tasting. White pepper, coriander seed perhaps. Zippy juicy fruit seam, typical of the style. Huge concentration, nectar like. Wonderful length.

April 20, 2021 - Tropical nose. Honeyed with a light texture. The short finish begs for more generosity with this bone dry style. Not much fun but mineral wine lovers will enjoy this. I prefer a dash of residual sugar to plump up my Rieslings. This is a stick insect.... Drink my last bottle in 5 years??

February 13, 2021 - Gooseberry, lime, iodine. Striking bright golden colour with a tinge of green. Light to medium bodied, taut and mineral, great salty mineral concentration. Clean and pure. A whiff of smoke on the finish. Excellent.

August 7, 2020 - What to do in a summer heat wave?
Yes, enter a one star restaurant with a terrace towards the river Elbe!
So there is a fine view on the working 24/7 big Hamburg port and a slightly fresh breeze from the west,
very good structured, still young with a good+ mouthfeel and some supporting acid, some chalky tones, yellow, more zesty fruit, light and refreshing, good length, enjoy over the next 5+ years, **(*- ?), around 88, 89(+)
