July 27, 2022 - Samtig, dunkelfruchtig, dezente Restsüße, insgesamt eher wenig Struktur und mittelschmaler Körper. Guter Trinkwein.

June 18, 2022 - Even better the next day. Give it some air (use the young decanter and give it a good shake)

August 21, 2021 - Fresh fruit and floral notes on the nose. Faintest hint of black pepper perhaps.

Palate is more fresh dark and red fruit.
Perfect balance of acidity. There’s sweetness but it’s not jammy. Minerality and subtle tannins follow with a medium finish.

A supremely well put together wine. I’m sure it would work well with all sorts of food too. An ideal summer red.

No need to hold onto this. Drink young and enjoy.

June 24, 2020 - I've been looking for a daily drinker Italian red, and I think I've found it here.

Splash decanted and then started to drink after a few minutes. The nose is complex: dark red fruit, some lighter floral notes and possibly just a touch of alcohol heat.

The palate is very nicely balanced: fruit, tannins, and acidity well-tuned, although over the next couple of hours the fruit fades a bit and the wine becomes a bit more "chewy" and more definitely a food wine. The finish is smooth, tanniny and moderately long.

Overall this is rather nice indeed for about US$17. Definitely a repeat buy.

March 13, 2020 - It took me way too long to start drinking Dolcetto and specifically the bottles from Einaudi. It is consistently good, pairs well with many of my wife's favorite pasta dishes and is reasonably priced. The 2017 has a beautiful floral aroma and on the palate it offers a tasty and concentrated blend of cherry, tobacco and mineral.
