March 11, 2022 - Wine Tasted at Acker Auction (Ci Siamo - New York NY): Small glass, walk around tasting. Bright red fruit, baking spice, and faint earth aromas, all combined well and wonderfully alluring. Similar on palate with lots of power, this seems just to be entering its peak drinking window. Dense, long finish. Better tonight vs when last tasted a couple of years ago.

June 5, 2021 - Monolithic ripe red fruit. Doesn't have much nuance or interest. Possibly just too young and with time it will develop favorably from here but I wouldn't hold my breath as it was worse when I tasted again the next day.

December 31, 2020 - What fun to taste the 2005 Hudelot-Noellat Romanée St Vivant and Richebourg side by side, blind. Both very obviously grand cru Burgundy given the intensity and depth, the RSV reasonably obviously Vosne from the exuberant spiciness on the nose. It can be so maddening to differentiate RSV from Richebourg in blind tastings - sometimes, as with DRC, the Richebourg seems finer, more noble, more aromatic and sometimes it’s the RSV which embodies those traits, as is the case here. But each is excellent and each remains remarkably young - massive, even, by Burgundian standards - with several hours in the decanter. The intense panoply of Vosne spices and mixed berry fruit should develop very positive over the next 20+ years. 95-96

December 4, 2020 - Very floral, almost heady nose of red cherries, violets, and baking spices. Quite structured as is expected from the vintage, with medium tannins, lots of fruit, some underwood and strawberry notes. Long and lingering finish. Outstanding wine that will only get better with time. 95+
