December 5, 1990 - 5 Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir Reserve+3 Calera Pinot Noir+2 Burgundy+ 3 others (Orinda, Ca.): 13 pinots tasted, group score 154.75-#10, my score #12, full of fresh fruit on the nose, medium body of fruit with great parts that need three years of age before it comes together, long finish.

December 27, 1989 - With MPL and BLR at lunch at Silk's in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in SF. Medium ruby-purple. Very seductive, fruity aroma.. Rose petal. On the palate, rich, earthy and tannic; very flavorful. Sweet fruit in a medium body. Impeccable balance. 5-13-15-7: 90/100.
