September 21, 2023 - Still quite young, this was best after 10+ hours of air, many hours were in a decanter and then a small amount was poured back in the bottle and consumed a couple hours later. Give this another 3 to 5 years.

October 21, 2022 - Really elegant nose of dried herbs, sour cherry, some potting soil — and overall a nice sense of earthiness and complexity. The palate definitely is firmly structured but it doesn’t feel aggressive, there’s tannins but they aren’t too astringent. There’s some power and I feel like this could keep aging longer. I liked this quite a bit.

August 7, 2022 - There is gorgeous immediacy here, this wine bursts from the glass with gorgeous sour cherry, blue plum, cocoa powder, dried herbs and bee pollen. More and more, I am convinced that Algianico is capable of great elegance on the nose, even if it is always a little stern on the palate. Structured and firmly dry, tannins grip and don't let go, acids are not prominent but they make themselves known, dried fruit, flowers and herbs contribute to a gorgeous inner perfume. Tangy and grippy finish, so many intricate herbal tones, this is enormously complex I can easily see it as tough for some palates. I LOVE it. I can see following this for 10+

April 21, 2021 - Where as the "regular" bottling from this winery that I reviewed recently was big but rustic, this was smooth and polished with dark fruit, spice, earth and a long interesting finish. Paired well with our meal, the bottle didn't make it past one pour each :( I would definitely buy this again!

December 11, 2020 - Really enjoyed this. Very nice, lighter-mid weight Italian red. Interesting body, paired well with seared coho salmon but also on it's own the night before. $29 my cost, would buy again.
