July 15, 2021 - This wine was rocking on both fronts, which were great but didn't match. The nose was unmistakably sauvage, mushroomy, earthy and smelling of its age. But on the palate, this was still shiny. Not tired, but full of energy. Super enjoyable. With all that said, this was very straightforward, not layered or complex, but still yummy. I would drink again in a heartbeat, but I have no more :(

July 16, 2018 - Delicious and ready! Faiveley is the largest holder of Les Cazetieres and coupled with the 1990 vintage this wine is outstanding. Fully resolved and beautiful. The terroir is not as exceptional as it's neighbor, Clos St Jacques, regarding elegance but this wine was damn close. Great 28 year old Burgundy!

April 11, 2015 - Mature 1st cru Gevrey...delicate for this vineyard. Well integrated, a little hoisin element showing through. Drink now if you have it, definitely won't be improving. Wide open and ready.

April 7, 2015 - This is my 1st 20+ year old burgundy. Picked it up for $45 at TCWC. Figured at that price point it was worth a gamble even if this is past prime. Very similar notes to FYC in 2013. Mine had quite bit of bricking. Similar cork seepage up to the top but stayed in tact. Decanted for about 20 min and had my first glass. Not much on the nose just yet, little beef broth, mushroom and slight perfume. lots of acid and still solid tannin but not much fruit or nuance coming through just yet. will update as progress through bottle.
Day 2: tannins more even, more pepper still solid acid , a bit less tart than day 1...but still very little complexity or fruit coming through. Has a very thin body...almost watery with very little texture to the mouth feel. but if you like acid this wine has it. it just lingers for 30 sec +

March 30, 2013 - Not promising at first due to obvious signs of past seepage. Cork stained all the way to the top. However, when poured it looked youthful with only a little bricking on the edges. The nose smelled of meat jus, forest floor, mushrooms, and a bare hint of cedar spice. On the palate dark fruit, a little bit of savory salinity, but also plenty of tannins. Tannins are a bit harsh at first but after 2 hours, really mellows out and comes together nicely.
