January 21, 2023 - Retail $45. Under cork. I first tasted this over three years ago for the third(?) Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir. That day (actually two days), we tasted 100 Pinots and this was not, frankly, a standout. Sure, it was a lot, but this wine did not rise against the rest. Today? Much better. Surprisingly, mostly dark, even brooding fruit on the nose, with some forrest floor and an herbal aspect (sage?). The palate is tart and fruity but the acidity reigns here. Much better than I remember that first go around.

July 17, 2022 - Light garnet color, clear edges with bright tones. Aromas of black cherry & fig, five spice, black tea, hibiscus and brown mushroom. Richly-toned candied cherry and red plum fruit on the palate, with secondary depth of tea, baking spices and cedar. Refined and elegant density on the palate, with medium well-integrated acid and fine round medium tannins, closing with nice lingering spice and rich fruit.

January 16, 2021 - Still a profound nose, of bright fruits now. Mid-palate of black cherry, strawberry, and spice. Some tension in the finish yet. It seems to me that 2022 on, will be best for this wine.

November 22, 2020 - Bacon fat and funk on the nose. Bright boysenberry fruit and crisp acidity on the palate. This has plenty of life left.

December 7, 2019 - The Second Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir: Retail $45. Funky with Brett on the nose, but I generally like the funk. The palate is quite nice with good fruit and acidity, quite different from the nose. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com
