October 9, 2021 - Extremely easy drinking, typically light Jura Ploussard. Pleasantly green, very pooy and a little astringent, but pure drinking pleasure.

N: Barnyard funk, sheep poo, squished red currants and cranberry, a bit volatile, berry acidity, snapped twigs, forest floor.

P: Bright, as expected. Cherry juice, subtle astringency (red apple skin), cranberry juice, toasted peppercorn, dried flowers, snapped stems. Med acid and tannins, that feel lighter and are totally in balance.

    F: More cranberries, nice poo

    Almost red wine
Very rustic, simple juicy with just the slightest hint of funk.
I thought this was a young Hautes Cotes Pinot

November 17, 2019 - Nice bottle but needs plenty of air. Tight and yielding but with aeration shows plenty of strawberry coulis, sous bois, sandalwood and the chacterisitic banana note I seek out in some Jura reds. Patience is required on this one but it will reward you. More dark notes come out with increasing air.

October 21, 2019 - Have you ever wondered what pre-global-warming Beaujalais tasted like if it was innoculated with a dirty sock from a Havanese junkie?

I’m trying to like Jura reds, but I paid $10 more for a blockbuster village Burg from Charlopin, and I’d trade a case of this for another bottle of that. This is a thin vegetal stew filled with brimstone and depression. I think poulsard might be the Natural Light of grapes. This and other examples all taste like a backed up septic tank. I’d almost rather drink Prisoner or Eight Years in the desert. At least those wines don’t TRY to be repulsive.

October 20, 2019 - Pale ruby. So much earth, mushroom, dried floral character. Red fruits like cranberry and pomegranate. A musky, barnyard note runs deep through the wine but the fruit and floral character shines through. Tannins are a little weird, acid is high-ish. Finish medium. Unfortunately I think it’s overpriced for what it is (>$30 I think) but it’s still very delicious. We’ll see where it goes on night no. 2.
