December 3, 2023 - Was looking for something grippy to go with Leek & Potato soup and a bacon sandwich. No carignane in the house so went for this. Dark and red fruits on the nose. Palate is grippy, nice tannins here but also fruit, and the vaguest hint of cough linctus. Some notes say to wait for the tannins to subside - I'm sure it will transform into something, even maybe something better, but I'm enjoying this now.

August 2, 2023 - Vibrant nose of raspberries and some earthy oregano. The palate is chewy and tannic, even on day two, with exotic flashes of cinnamon and spiced plums. Bags of potential here and might need 2-3 years to really hit its stride. Another superb Beaujolais from 2017 and certainly one for the cellar. A ludicrous amount of Morgon for well under twenty quid.

March 26, 2023 - What a pleasant surprise! I really have not liked Beaujolais in general, having only enjoyed one bottle of it prior to this. I was expecting not to like this one either, so brought two bottles of wine from the cellar to have another as a fallback. I was happily able to put the other one back, and consumed this over 2 nights.

The harsh tannins I noticed in my 2021 review have integrated and the wine is nicely balanced. A nice blend of blackberries and black cherry, with a hint of spce. Nice long finish. Really enjoyable on it's own but went well with food as well.

July 25, 2022 - Needs more time. Still a bit closed and tannic.

September 1, 2021 - Joyous fresh and juicy blackberry and boysenberry. However finish is a bit dry relative to the attack. Probably better in a couple years.
