May 17, 2022 - Been watching this label awhile now with intrigue and came across this older vintage of very small quantity awhile back. Lewelling Vineyard fruit in St. Helena. Wonderful aromas of blackberries, cassis, plum, cinnamon stick, black tea, caramel and a hint of vanilla. The black is dark fruit, baking spices (like the cinnamon stick), cassis. Seemingly well balanced with short decant now but could also see this aging another decade gracefully.

December 30, 2021 - Still a monster and could benefit another 3 to 5 years in the bottle; tannins are strong but match the massive fruit wave about to hit you. The nose has notes of sen sen candy, strawberry and lavender. Red fruit is intense and gives way to dark chocolate, baking spices and old leather to finish. Really rich wine that will stand up to venison or any game meal!

March 21, 2021 - I think this wine would have done much better with a 2-hour decant. It was opened alongside a 2015 Robert Young Bob's Burnpile Cab from Geyserville. This wine has a lot of complexity and is doing well now. Compared to other Lewelling fruit, this wine is a little less complex but I have a feeling it is because of the youth as this one did have a lot of youthful oak tannin. Red raspberry, medicinal black cherry, some pomegranate and even some eucalyptus, with a bit of gritty character throughout and gritty youthful oak tannin. For the most part, a true expression of Lewelling fruit. I think my 16 and 17 will either decant via slow ox for a day or bottle age for 5 years before even cracking it open. I felt like I missed out on a small part of this wine.

January 26, 2021 - Lewelling fruit can't ever be bad can it?

cassis, clove, blackberries, black currant, raspberry, warm baking spice, mint, vanilla, mocha, pencil shavings.

Nice linear structure to it, firm tannins, well layered. Pricey compared to Lewelling though, probably its only drawback. Good wine nonetheless.

May 20, 2019 - Dark garnet, raspberry and blackberry on the nose, mirrored in the palate with excellent balance. Hints of graphite throughout. Wine is deftly made, body is about normal and not thick, touch of cranberry and aged cherry belying the young age. This is a good wine and well made. Like most 15s this is drinking well, but the persistence of tannin likely indicates some aging potential. Minimal oak presence. From Mark Porembski of Zeitgeist and Anomaly. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. 93+
