October 26, 2019 - Trinkbar. Wenig Aromen. Viel Alcohol

August 10, 2019 - Spanish Wine Tasting (San Diego Wine Co.): "Dry farmed Monastrell from vyds planted on chalky & rocky soils very poor in nutrients;"

N: RIPE berries with notes of flowers & HINTS of vanilla?

P: Med, poss LM, body; Rndish entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which stays within hailing distance of the init frt as it somewhat resolves by the LONG, balanced, very, VERY slightly bitterish finish with a tangy/swtness to the DUSTY tannins. NEEDS 12-18 mos, then drinking through '23? 15% ABV; My VG+, arguably a notch higher for QPR of a potentially cellarworthy wine. 90 pts Vinous, 87 Suckling, & 86 Wine Align. [This vendor's $6.99 now is @ THE top of wine-searcher's postings!]

May 18, 2019 - tried to drink over several days, hoping it would open up. Too much alcohol, no complexity, not enjoyable.

March 23, 2019 - Spanish Tasting + an "extra"; 3/23/2019-3/25/2019 (San Diego Wine Co.): N: Slightly closed; Smoke, earth atop berries

P: Med, poss LM, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by some astringent pucker which loses virtually all its minimal bite as it evolves into a LONG, POSS very, VERY slightly bitterish finish with a tangy/SWTNESS to the DUSTY, yet unobtrusive, tannins. For now with food, & EASILY through '21, + should improve through '19. VERY impressive, certainly @ THIS price point! 15% ABV; My EXC-/EXC, definitely trending towards the higher if one takes into account this vendor's competitive $6.99 pricing. 87 pts Suckling
