August 4, 2022 - yes! Very good bottle. So meditative and complex and still very drinkable.

June 23, 2022 - Has so much personality and so much contemplative joy. The color has deepened and darkened and the fragrance is more musky rhubarb and less floral than a few years ago. Wonderful.

February 14, 2020 - Valentimes in Riviera Maya w/ Elizabeth.
    Medium plus copper color.
Volatile at the cork pull, prolly needs some time to jive. Apricot aromas. Acid is running pretty high in the mix. Light tannin.

January 9, 2020 - Side-by-side with the '06, I prefered the '12 by a notch, though they are quite different wines. This was more clear and lighter-toned in the glass like an apricot gemstone. The funky, maple, orange-rind nose leads to a complex and engaging wine. And while there's plenty going on, what stands out is the beautiful tension and balance between (on the one hand) levels of essential oils and other beguiling elements and (on the other) an underlying cool sweetness that's subtly reprised on the pleasurable finish. Really memorable.

August 27, 2019 - Bright orange/golden-brown in the glass, has some fine cloudiness to it. It took an hour to develop in the glass, and then didn't really budge much over the remaining 3 days I drank it. In that first hour there was a bit of distracting glue and VA, but with time a sweet, fruity, almost honeyed note emerges. Loads of citrus rind, orange oil, pine needles, fresh honey, something like quince? So much going on. Juicy palate, a bit yeasty but with some lovely tingly candied-citrus fruit flavours, and high acidity broadens that fruit over the palate and carries it for ages. Feels like it finishes dry. This is really complex and really delicious. Reaffirms my belief that the '11 I made a note for last year was flawed. This is worlds apart.
