February 14, 2021 - Salmon fading to faint orange to watery. Enjoyed over 3 days. Distinct rim variation, medium legs. Aromas include strawberry, faint cherry, with hints of ginger & eucalyptus. Flavors are very similar; refreshing impact lacking distinct pepper I'd expected. Light/medium body, bright and juicy texture. Medium finish, medium plus acidity. By Days 2 & 3, wine softened but did not exactly fade. A mild dusty aroma emerged to replace the ginger. Remained juicy, tart, pleasant. At <$15 with tax & shipping, QPR slightly above average. One drawback: the wine did not reflect Syrah. More reminiscent of a Grenache. Overall impression: for a 4 year old Rose', a solid wine. Drink now, and remove from refrigerator 15-30 minutes before serving.

May 29, 2020 - Salmon fading to rosy/orange. Distinct rim variation, medium legs, a few bubbles on Day 1. Aromas include strawberry, cherry, light toast, clove, with hints of either mint or eucalyptus. Flavors are very similar; refreshing impact lacking distinct pepper I'd expected. Light/medium body, bright and juicy texture. Medium finish, medium minus acidity. Impression: balanced, more complexity than my typical experience with a Rose'. May be at prime, but will try another bottle in 2021. At <$15 with tax & shipping, QPR slightly above average. Nice effort.

November 26, 2019 - This is just a fantastic rose but if you've been following my posts you know that I love all things Scherrer. The color is a tad bit darker/richer pink than your usual rose, more like a Provence Tavel. The nose is all about bright red cherry. On the tongue are more bing cherries with a bit of citrus on the side and lively acidity. The finish is long and cleansing

June 5, 2019 - PnP, chilled. Had this alongside Fred's Dry Rose 2018, which helped us to understand and appreciate the difference. This wine is all Syrah, while the other is a blend of Grenache and Syrah. This wine is darker in color, and more obvious on the palate, than the Dry Rose. This wine presents more medium red fruits like cherry and strawberry (especially after it warms up a bit), with sufficient acidity to remain cleansing, and a touch of minerality. A bit harsher on the palate with the occasional touch of bitterness on the finish, but still a great food wine. Usually drink each vintage before the next arrives, but will certainly hold for a year or two. Preferred by L.

February 6, 2019 - PnP, chilled. The personality of a rose seems to depend largely on the underlying varietal. The varietal here is Syrah, so this rose has a greater presence than many. The nose leans to strawberry and cherry. The medium palate displays the same red fruits, along with balancing acidity. The finish is moderate with red fruit and a touch of minerals. Meant to drink while young and fresh, but should hold a couple of years.
