April 7, 2019 - My first red from Ireland and my first time trying the grape variety Rondo. Light red strawberry color. Good flowery and fruity nose, raspberries, fresh cherries. Very light on the palate, fresh cherry, some mint and dark pepper. Not very complex and missing some structure, nice acidity though. Short and rather uninteresting finish. I’m not a fan of this type of wine and I probably never will become a fan, but it was drinking way better than I hoped. All in all an interesting wine and amazing to see what can be achieved on the island of Ireland.
