September 29, 2019 - This has a nice buttery nose. It has a nice jammy flavor. We left it decant for an hour. We enjoyed this wine.

First sniff/sip - immediately upon uncorking: woody, earthy, some deep dark fruit; medium tannins, some alcohol heat, silky feel

As usual, I decanted my glass of wine - for about two hours, this time.

First and second evenings (three days apart) were paired with lamb (overriding heat, medium tannins), green beans and purple potatoes (less heat - concentrated on front of tongue). Tastes as in initial sip straight out of bottle.

Second evening, sip alone - lower tannins and less heat. With lamb, softer, smoother. Had caprese this evening - wine almost sour with that.

Last evening (three days later), with a burger (sharp cheddar and BBQ sauce mixed in) - smoother still, more fruit forward - very tasty; and with caprese - much softer (no sour) this evening.

Thank you, Jose, for making this very wine for us! I'm guessing that those who love big reds LOVE it and rightly so. My 'sweeter wine' palate is still acclimating to these!

July 27, 2019 - Enjoyed at room temp. Noticeably better on the palate once it had a chance to breathe and open up. Tastes mild blackberry and heavy current. Full body red.
