February 21, 2022 - Decanted for a few hours. Dried flowers, gravel, bing cherry, raspberry, pencil lead

September 6, 2021 - Initial notes of light spice, red and black currant, pencil shavings, and potpourri. This Cabernet has a more restrained profile, which I appreciate. In a good place now; easy drinking, and delicious. I tried this as it was marked down to $56 in PA.

April 11, 2021 - Picked this up at a PA state store where it was on sale for $75.

The wine is made by Keith Emerson, winemaker at Vineyard 29. This is a single vineyard designate coming from a single block of the Oakville property previously owned by his parents, now owned and farmed by the Araujo family for their Accendo cellars.

The vineyard is located in the northeast corner of Oakville in what is called The Foothills.

Th wine has an attractive nose of red fruit and violets. It is somewhat light on the palate, blueberries, with a hint of cigar, spice and leather, with an earthy finish. Tasty on the approach, but falls off on the mid body and finish, without enough acidity to keep it fresh.

At $95, I’ll pass on this moving forward, there are far more viscerally exciting Napa wines in this price range as Yackman points out. Not sure what Jeb was smoking when he gave this a 95 in 2019.

Drunk from the bottle over 4 hours with little change

December 25, 2019 - Good nose with a waft of lavender and a dark purple/ reddish color. On the palate, black/ blueberry fruit dark currant, slightly bitter black tea (the better aspect did subside with some air) and fine tannins. A very good wine, special? Not really in my opinion. Obviously there are some who would enjoy this style/ profile, but I like wines that show more energy and flavors, the type that Mike Smith, Kirk Venge, and some of the wines from Lewis, I find their entry level Cabs are more appealing to me by comparison. Dunnuck scores this wine at 95 points, today that’s a few points too high than I would score this wine. I do have ½ a bottle remaining and maybe the wine could improve on day 2, but I would score this wine closer to Galloni’s 91 point score. My score: 92+ points. Cost $89
