November 5, 2023 - Color is still nice, with just some expected bricking, but nice maroon. Nose is nicely expressive, with roses, anise, cherry, and earth. Seamless on the palate, with terrific acidity, a great core of red fruit, framed by leather, dried leaves, roses, and earth. Nicely complexity, lingering finish. Drinking great now, and should continue to do so for years to come.

February 6, 2022 - Not really giving up much aromatically, however the joy of this wine is the multilayered textural delights it offers - medium bodied, on entrance there is an elegant velvet, and then a slow glide toward still some firm, yet al dente tannins emerging. Really classy and enjoyable. Rose, red fruits, clove. Wonderful.

October 31, 2020 - More fruit (cooked red fruits) and less liquorice and earth compared to Marcarini Brunate 04. Medium plus, herbal raspberry persistent, chalk tannins still with some body, earthy and leather finish.

November 26, 2018 - When I drank the first of my two bottles of this wine in 2011, I wrote that it needs five or more years to improve. I gave it almost 7,5 years and the wait was definitely worth it. A bit shy at first but after an hour it opened up to become an intensely perfumed yet very elegant wine with great balance of powerful (acidic and fresh) red berries and smooth tannins on the palate. Complex and long. I really wish I had more of this!

March 29, 2016 - To echo WS: Lots of roses, berries and cherries on the nose with hints of strawberries. Full and silky with excellent fruit and a long, fruity and silky finish. Time has mellowed the tannins, leaving a generous amount of acidity and fruit with some mature earthy flavors of cedar.
