November 25, 2021 - Mature colour, brownish at the rim and deep dark red in the core.
Baking spices, ground coffee, figs, earth, tomatoleaf and balsamic notes. Soft and well-balanced mouthfeel, very nice and harmonious. Actually better than the 99 at the moment. Perfect for my lasagne bolognese.

September 10, 2015 - Drank this at New Ubin Seafood over lunch with my best friend from the University days for her birthday.

Decanted for 30 minutes before serving. Colour is brick red, with a beautiful, elegant nose with notes of cherries, plum and tobacco. Taste of the wine is less impressive, with muted notes of red fruits, liquorice and cheddar which disappears in the mid-palate. Acidity and structure still holding up nicely, but the lack of flavours is somewhat disappointing for a Brunello reaching its 18th birthday.

September 4, 2015 - somewhat hesitant nose. Color was that of a much younger wine. Tannins fully resolved. Dark cherry and related fruits. Day 2:

November 28, 2013 - Decanted for 2 hr. Nose is kind of flat with subtle fruits. Good acidity, juicy, plum, berry, some tobacco, after taste is medium length and smooth.

November 30, 2012 - Dim Sum Club takes on Bistecca and Brunellos (Nonna Linna, Craig Road, Singapore): Not the most complete of Brunellos, but this was actually very good. The nose came across as very modern at first, with lots of sweet fruit aroma -, blackberries and plums, a touch of stewed raisins, then as the fruit toned down slightly, nice notes of meat and earth, smoke and dried herbs. The palate was rather less modern, showing savoury flavours of broiled meat and black olives alongside fruitier notes of raisins and blackberries. It was just a bit hollow right at the very finish, ending rather tamely with a drift of black fruit and earth after the delicious attack and midpalate. Otherwise, I enjoyed this very much. It was drinking very nicely too, with gently fresh acidity and fine, slightly dry tannins forming a very nice, food friendly base for the wine. Really no harm in drinking it now, but this bottle should be given either a short decanting or a couple more years in the cellar for the best effects.
