February 17, 2023 - Our first taste of the 2016. Opened 4h early. Good, deep colour and a fine nose as it opened in the glass. Deep, dark fruit on the palate - dark cherry, blackberry - with some ‘sweet’ character. Hints of cedar, well-balanced acidity and soft tannins. Very smooth with good length. Excellent with a rare ribeye steak.
This is a fine Bordeaux blend but is not a Bordeaux copy. It is a serious New World treatment of this blend of grapes that stands on its own merits and is an absolute bargain when compared with many Bordeaux wines (and many expensive Californian Bdx blend wines) at this quality/character level.2 people found this helpful Comment -
