November 5, 2023 - The bottle was opened 4 hours before drinking and we have been at the table for about 3 hours. This note was taken from the last (and best!) glass much later that evening.
We had this together with much more famous Ornellaia from the same vintage.
A very interesting comparison! See my note on that wine as well.
Medium ruby color. Full aromas of cherry, some cedar, fresh herbs and hints of Indian spices and wet earth. Full bodied with silky, mouth coating, tannins and lively fresh acidity. A very long finish that remains fresh throughout.
A great wine that is now finally coming into its own after several years of bold, but slightly fragmented, character.
This is great stuff.
Drink now - 2035.
